Retreat in Southern India

After a break neck 14-day tour  around the Rajastan state of  India, we headed south to   Philipkutty’s Farm on a small tranquil island on the southwestern coast .

The island is surrounded by the  Vembanad Lake  in the state of Kerala.   Canals, streams, marshes and flooded rice patties are  intricately tied into the 80-square-acre  lake and make up what Keralites call the Backwaters. (more…)

Yummy Thai Peanut Kelp Noodles & Veggies

Pad Thai is one of my favorite dishes. I just love the savory peanut taste with fresh organic veggies and noodles. Kelp noodles are a new and amazing raw food that I was recently turned on to. Made with mineral-rich sea kelp, they are clear, crisp and just six calories per serving. I am not one to count calories, but that is definitely amazing! (more…)

Raw Macnut Cheese Recipe

Michael Shulkin shares the fast version of this recipe.

Macnuts soaked & rinsed.
Water
Mellow white miso
dash of salt
dash of white pepper
juice from 1 lemon
sprig of parsley
dash of nutmeg (secret ingredient)
Blend in Vitamix or food processor until creamy

Candy Milk Shake

Super yummy raw milk shake I came across, just something new for you to try in your blender.

4 cacao Beans (peeled – you can add more if you want it even more chocolately)
1 Tsp agave nectar
2 dates (I use Halawi)
1 1/2 frozen bananas
Pure water (I use about 1 c.)
Ice to desired texture (I use about 2 c.)
2 Tbl almonds (optional)

Blend all ingredients, except ice, in blender til nice and creamy. Then add ice to desired texture (I used 1 c. full)

Makes one glass full. YUM!!!!
